Because we TVD fans in Latvia have our own fan page http://tvdlatvia.ucoz.lv/news/ I decided that the world needs to know us for something more, then just for some crazy TVD fans :D I'm a big nature activist and from primary school I had connected in many projects with environment problems in Latvia, of course its not even close comparing with what IS Foundation does to our world... I admire Ian very much and not only because he is a great actor , he's so much more then that. He cares about our environment and he wants to protect any living creature. So I decided to create a IS Foundation Latvia.
Now its only a project and we don't have as many supporters like in other countries, but with our hopes and small things we do , we can still change so much. We're a small country, but its not important, the most important thing is where our actions go and what we choose is right for our world.
For me a big encourage gave Ian's post in twitter to https://twitter.com/#!/ISF_Latvia and I have a dream that someday here in Latvia, we could make this fond so we could donate money to ISF. (now its more difficult because we need to donate money to world banks and its not as save and we need to change money course to if we want to donate money ;( ) I see so much young people donating money, like this little girl who gave her small piggy bank to donate money for ISF. I got tears in my eyes and it also proves that any money has a worth to save this world :)
Hope this gives you some thoughts on how you can make such a difference, by starting with an idea and making it real. :)
